Incorporated in 1990, Regional Multiple Listing Service (RMLS™) is the largest
REALTOR®;-owned, subscriber-driven MLS in the Northwest. RMLS™ provides
services to Oregon and Southern Washington.
‘Multiple Listing Service’ is an electronic database that was created to provide
a marketplace where real estate professionals can share information about the properties
they have listed for sale and offer compensation on behalf of their clients.
When a real estate professional lists a property through the MLS, the seller can
be assured that their property is marketed to a wide audience of potential home
buyers in an organized and cooperative environment on a computerized, regional network.
The homeowner now has an expanded sales force as the property is exposed to a larger
pool of prospective home buyers.
When property information is entered into the MLS database, all subscribers of the
MLS have the ability to view the information and can show the property to their
qualified buyers. In addition, the property may be advertised on a variety of real
estate websites, which allows home buyers around the world to view listings for
sale in the RMLS™ database.
The robust database includes additional resources for the real estate professional
to use when advising their clients, such as the comparative marketing analysis program
which assists in pricing a new property listing appropriately.
A real estate professional working with a buyer can narrow their search to meet
the buyer’s criteria with the assurance they are getting reliable and timely information
about available properties.
RMLS™ brings together content from a variety of sources in one place, allowing subscribers
to provide their buyers with detailed lists of property characteristics and photos
of the properties as well as additional information such as listing history and
tax records.
Only properties listed with a REALTOR
® office that subscribes to RMLS™
are on
RMLS.com. Look up an
RMLS™ subscriber to assist
with your question.
To view the property in person you must first set an appointment with your REALTOR
®
or contact the listing agent. However, some listings on
RMLS.com may
have virtual tours which can be viewed at your leisure.
Because we want to protect the privacy of home owners’ confidential data on RMLSweb,
our subscribers must meet certain requirements and pay a fee in exchange for access.
RMLSweb is not intended for general public use.
Only licensed real estate professionals who belong to a REALTOR® office
and subscribe to RMLS™ may list homes on RMLSweb.
There are a variety of benefits that come from working with a REALTOR
®,
including but not limited to the ethics standards REALTOR
® must follow.
For details please visit the
National Association of REALTORS®.
Lockboxes are used on properties for sale which can only be opened by a real estate
professional, protecting the property from trespassers and providing a record of
who has entered the property. If it were your property you would want every measure
taken to protect it from thieves or damage, which is why we don’t allow people to
enter even a vacant house without a real estate professional.
You can limit the number of properties that match your search on
RMLS.com by
adding additional criteria or narrowing down the price range. Subscribing REALTORS
®
also have access to more advanced search tools and a richer set of information about
listed properties through RMLS
web - please contact an
RMLS™ subscriber to further refine your search.
RMLS.com not only ranks high in search engine results, but it is also a
widely accepted searching method for real estate in Oregon and Southern Washington.
If a listing is on
RMLS.com then it is also appearing on our subscriber site, RMLS
web,
as well as additional real estate websites.
An MLS number, sometimes referred to as an ML#, is a unique number assigned to each
listing for searching and tracking purposes. It is designed to be a quick and easy
way to refer to a property listed for sale.
There are a variety of possible reasons the property is not appearing, with the
most probable listed below:
- The status of the property has changed from active or pending.
- The listing may have sold, been withdrawn, or cancelled.
- Your search criteria may be too specific. Try simplifying your search.
- The real estate company or owner of the property may have opted out of displaying the information in the Internet.
- If you are searching by the MLS number, it is possible the property has been relisted under a new MLS number.
- The listing agent may not subscribe to RMLS™, or the property may not be listed with an agent.
